The Berkeley Neighborhood Food Project’s next Harvest Day is Saturday, June 8. We want to bring all of the church’s contributions together on Sunday, June 2, so we can give thanks together, and pray for all the hungry folks in our community. So before you head out the door next Sunday, be sure to grab that green bag full of food and bring it with you – and bring it with you into worship! If you are interested in helping on Harvest Day, please contact Pantry Director Dharma Galang.

Quaker Christianity 101: What does it mean for us to be Friends of Jesus? This spring, Berkeley Friends Church will be exploring the basics of Christianity – the stories of the Bible, the power of the gospel, and the life of community in Jesus. We hope you’ll join us for the following sessions, on Sundays from 12:30-2:00pm in the Fellowship Hall: 6/2 – “Letting Our Light Shine”

Choir will meet next Sun, June 9, at 1:00PM.

Christian Friends ConferenceWestern Region’s next gathering will on Saturday June 15 from 9am to 3pm at the Palo Alto Friends Meeting, located at 957 Colorado Ave in Palo Alto.  It is a time of waiting worship, Bible study and fellowship.  A light breakfast will be provided. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Childcare will be provided.

Free Ben Lomond Quaker Center workshops are available through the church’s membership subscription. A complete list for the year is on the table in the back and can be found online. The next workshop is Family Work Camp from July 29-Aug 3 and is a camp for all ages! Build community while constructing, repairing, prepping, painting, cooking, cleaning. If interested in this or any other workshop on the list, please let John Maurer or Faith Kelley know ASAP.

The Berkeley Food Pantry will be the recipient of food donations from Safeway’s Feed the Need Summer Campaign from 5/30 to 6/25, 2019. We will receive donations from the Safeway at 1550 Shattuck Ave in Berkeley. If you are interested in purchasing a “hunger bag” for the pantry at 1550 Shattuck, you can remove a tear sheet at the checkout stand and make a $10 donation. Each “hunger bag” will have the following items: Peanut butter, canned chicken, apple sauce, pasta, oatmeal, canned tuna, pinto beans, low sodium black beans and diced peaches in fruit cups. Please spread the word. Thank you!

Veneita Porter is walking in the San Francisco Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk for suicide prevention on June 8. If you would like to join her, she is looking for other walkers. If you would like to support her walk, donations can be made at theovernight.org. Search for her name in the “fundraiser search” box to give directly to her fundraising goal of $1000.
