Bible Study starts 7:30 PM on Tuesdays via Zoom. Bible Study is currently reading  “Jesus and Nonviolence” by Walter Wink. In this book Wink argues that Christian tradition of nonviolence is needed as an alternative to the dominant and death-dealing powers of our consumerist culture and fractured world. You do not have to own or have read the book ahead of time to participate.

Barclay Press and Pendle Hill are collaborating on the Illuminate Summer Speaker Series, 2nd and 4th Mondays, June 14 to August 23, 7:30–9 p.m. ET via Zoom. Join us for a series of evening discussions with authors of the Barclay Press Illuminate Friends Bible study summer curriculum on Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. Click here for more information.

Friends Committee on National Legislation’s June Change Maker’s event will focus on “Talking Through Political Disagreement: Is It Even Worth It?” Join them June 23 at 3:30 PM Pacific on Zoom. RSVP on their website. The speakers, Karen Tibbals and Val Liveoak, will draw on theoretical, strategic, and spiritual frameworks from Quaker tradition. They will showcase new skills for communicating across political divides, seeing that of God in people we disagree with, and building relationships to make change in Congress and in our communities. FCNL’s Bobby Trice will moderate the conversation.

A memorial service for Joyce Kumao will be held on Saturday June 26 at 2:30 PM at the meeting house. All are invited to attend. More details to come.
