Free Ben Lomond Quaker Center workshops are available through the church’s membership subscription. A complete list for the year is on the table in the back and can be found online. The next workshop is Clerking with Joy and Enthusiasm taught by Barbara Babin and Jamie Newton from August 30-September 1. If interested in this or any other workshop on the list, please let John Maurer or Faith Kelley know ASAP.

The Berkeley Neighborhood Food Project’s next Harvest Day is Saturday, Aug.10.  We want to bring all of the church’s contributions together this coming Sunday, Aug 4, so we can give thanks together, and pray for all of the hungry folks in our community.  So before you head out the door next Sunday, be sure to grab that green bag full of food and bring it with you into worship! If you are interested in helping on Harvest Day, please contact Food Pantry Director, Dharma Galang.

All students, teachers and school staff are invited to our Blessings of the Backpacks during the Sunday service on August 11.Bring whatever bag you take to school with you as we pray for you and the new school year. To pass the blessing on to others, starting 7/21 through 8/4 the church will be collecting school supplies for students at Lincoln Elementary in Oakland.  Please bring new items for those who would struggle to purchase their own and place them in the box in the entryway. Consider buying a new backpack the same as you’d buy for your student, and contains these 4 categories as top priorities: 1. Pencils, erasers and sharpener. 2. Box of colored pencils and a box of crayons.3. A small ruler. 4. 3-two pocket folders. Lincoln’s new principle Ms. Mukta Sambrani very much appreciates our assistance!

Alternatives to Violence (AVP)’s Conflict Resolution Workshop will take place at the church building on Saturday October 12, 19, and 26 from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Come to this three part series to learn how to deal with interpersonal conflict in healthy, straightforward, and productive ways. Suggested donation of $35 to $100. Breakfast and lunch provided. Advance registration required by emailing avpbaybridge@gmail.com or calling Amy at (510) 394-2622.
