This weekend @BFC: Movie Night, Pantry Work Day, Sunday School, Worship, PECSC

The end of the month is often busy at BFC, and Tenth Month is no exception:

1) Tomorrow, Friday, 10/24, is our monthly Friday Night at the Movies. This month’s film is “Brother Sun, Sister Moon,” Franco Zeffirelli’s 1972 biopic of Francis of Assisi. Zeffirelli concentrates on the early story of Francesco, a boy who renounces his wealthy upbringing to serve God, and gathers around him a crew of misfit disciples. They are also joined by Clare, who is also sympathetic to the plight of the poor. With music by Donovan, this lavishly photographed film is a treat for the senses, and is not often seen. See attached for more.

ADMISSION IS FREE! Doors open for refreshments at 6:30 PM; film at 7:00, with discussion following. Remember that this is our final presentation for 2014; we will take the next two months off due to the holidays.

2) On Saturday, 10/25, the Food Pantry will have a work day to clean and begin making some changes related to the Alameda County Community Food Bank’s recent inspection. The scheduled time is 12:30 PM to 5 PM, but people may start in the morning; there are plenty of things to do. If you can help, please contact Pantry Director Sara Webber.

3) On Sunday, 10/26, things start at 10 AM with our regular Sunday School classes for adults & children. Meeting for Worship begins at 11 AM, with song, prayer, a spoken meditation, and corporate waiting on the Lord. Fellowship time follows worship, and then at 1 PM, the Peace, Environment, and Christian Social Concerns Committee will meet.

Come and join us as we work, study and seek Christ together!
